Description

Researching steam-powered aircraft, the only successful design I came across was the Besler biplane.  It used a super-heated steam generator similar to the Doble steam cars.  One advantage was it could reverse the engine's direction for braking upon landing.  It was built as a modified Travel Air 2000 biplane.
